Traditional and College Savings Account-Match Scholarship Recipient Coordinator
As KC Scholars scales (with over 1,000 scholarship recipients in the program by May 2018), the program is strengthening its capacity to support scholarship recipients/program participants. KC Scholars (kcscholars.org) seeks a dedicated staff member for a newly-created position (see attached position description).
The person will be integral to KC Scholars’ transformative results of regional and national significance. The person in this role will be committed to providing college opportunity for low-and modest-income traditional scholarship recipients and college savings account/match participants in a six-county service region. KC Scholars is a relatively new college scholarship and support program that aims to achieve a 75% college completion goal. KC Scholars publicly launched in fall 2016; made its first 635 awards in May 2017; and is in its second application cycle, with at least 500 awards to be made in May 2018. Annually, as many as 750 participants are selected for the traditional scholarship and college savings account/match program.
KC Scholars seeks applicants that understand challenges faced by low-income, first-generation high school students as they prepare for and then persist in and complete college; understand higher education financial aid and college-going processes; will be effective team members in an evolving non-profit organization; and are highly organized and strategic.
